Bits & Pieces?

Bits & Pieces

This year I made it a point to capture as much footage as I possibly could during the United Adworkers softball games. What I was going to do with it was uncertain at the time, but I somehow managed to turn it into this short, and hopefully entertaining two-part documentary.

Enjoy.

As a frequent reader and subscriber to the Brandflakes For Breakfast blog, I found a pleasant surprise in my email this morning – Nick’s video from the Milwaukee 99 show. See it for yourself! Do you think this will go to Nick’s head?

Jigsaw was honored with 15 advertising awards at the 2010 Milwaukee 99 show hosted by United Adworkers on September 16, 2010. A standing-room-only crowd of industry professionals took in the show at the Harley-Davidson Museum. And while we are excited and proud of the recognition that Jigsaw received, we are even more honored to be a part of this amazing and creative advertising community in Milwaukee.

My professional life encompasses three pursuits:

1. Being Creative Director of Jigsaw,
2. Being President of the United Adworkers ad club in Milwaukee
2. Being a musician and songwriter

All three of these lives converged on September 16 as the United Adworkers held the annual Milwaukee 99 awards show.

Now I know what you’re probably asking: “What the heck does that have to do with being a musician?”

Here’s the deal: Every year the prez of the Adworkers has to make a video. For mine, I chose to seek the assistance of my partner in crime Mr. Peter Batchelder and produce a music video featuring a song we wrote together called “The Advertising Life.” It’s a fun, catchy, poppy tune that speaks to a number of different things about the crazy industry known as the ad business. And it has a kid playing Guitar Hero in it that may or may not be my 9 year old son. Hope you like it.
