A New Year. A New Color.
Tangerine Tango meet Emerald. Yes my dear, it’s your replacement. A pink slip? No. More like a green slip. It’s 2013, and that means a new year, and, well — sorry Tangerine Tango (PMS1463), but a new color is in order.
“Green is seen by the human eye more than any other color in the color spectrum, said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. But this is no normal green. This is a green with history, strength and a rare beauty. A vivid, verdant green, able to enhance our sense of well being, inspire insight and promote balance and harmony. A green that represents healing and unity. This, my dear is emerald (PMS5641).
Ah, yes… like the Emerald Isle. Uh huh… and the Emerald City. What’s that? Yes, yes, just like the brilliant, precious gemstone. Sophisticated and luxurious Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation. Oh Tangerine Tango, please don’t whimper, you were a good friend – you taught us how to dance, how to recharge. You were a bit draaaaaamatic. But. I see. Yes, tangerines have leafs. And yes, I suppose they are colored Emerald. Whatever makes you feel better Tangerine…
Pantone’s Color-of-the-Year influences product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design. So this spring, ladies I want to see those toenails sparkling with Emerald, your kitchens fresh with new Emerald dinnerware and stemware. And should the occasion present itself, try wearing that Emerald formal, you’ll be a knock out (boys, don’t forget the matching tie).
